Mangode (Split green lentil Fritters )
Mangode are crispy green gram fritters which are very famous in northern pars of India ,These are the perfect snacks to munch on monsoon days. As monsoon has arrived and so as long cloudy day following with drizzling evenings just calls for a hot snack with your hot cuppa tea.
There's a famous mangode wala near my moms place ,which serves these crunchy snacks wit hot yogurt chutney and I always make sure to visit this place whenever I go to my mom's place. Its difficult to get hand on this irresistible munchies.
Mangodes are made with split green gram which has husk .these makes the fritters more crunchy.

Ingredients
3/4 Cup Split green gram ( moong daal with husk/cover)
1/4 Cup yellow gram dal ( yellow moong dal w
3Tbs Bengal gram (chana dal)
1 Medium Onion finely chopped
2-3 Green Chilies finely chopped
1Tbs Grated Ginger
3 Tbs Chopped coriander
1/2Tsp Cumin powder
1Tsp Red chili powder
1Tsp Coriander seeds coarsely ground
Salt To Taste
Cooking Oil for frying
1Tsp Fennel seeds coarsely ground

3/4 Cup Split green gram ( moong daal with husk/cover)

2-3 Green Chilies finely chopped
1Tbs Grated Ginger
3 Tbs Chopped coriander
1/2Tsp Cumin powder
1Tsp Red chili powder
1Tsp Coriander seeds coarsely ground

Directions
- Wash and soak the dals together for 3-4 hours .
- drain the excess water and coarsely ground the dal in a blender using minimum water.
- Now add onion, green chilies ,ginger , coriander and all other ingredients to the ground dal and mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Heat oil in a kadhai or deep frying pan. Fill the spoon full with the mixture and drop into the oil, Fry on medium heat stirring in between until crisp and golden brown. Take out in a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve with green chutney or ketchup and with a hot cup of tea.
