Green Peas Pulao (Microwave)

            A super blend of minimal yet aromatic ingredients boosts the flavours of this dish and takes it  to next level.Green peas pulao is a must try for those who wants an alternative to plain rice.It goes very well with any curry or can be served with raita and pickle.I have made this in microwave which is very easy to make and comes out very fluffy with separate grains and is as flavourful as made normally over the stove  top.

Preparation Time : 5 Minutes
Cook Time      : 20 Minutes


  • Basmati rice/Long grain rice  1 Cup 
  • Split green chilies 2
  • Bay leaf 2 (tejpatta)
  • Cumin seeds 1⁄2 Teaspoon (jeera)
  • Ground black pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  • Fresh peas/Frozen peas 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  • Salt  To Taste
  • Oil 2 Tablespoon
  • Water 2 Cup 


  • Soak rice in water for 30 minutes ,then drain and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a microwave safe deep dish for 2 minutes high in microwave.Oil when heated ,add bay leaf , cumin seeds and microwave on high for 2 minutes ,or until jeera crackles.
  • Now add split green chilies , frozen peas and microwave on high for another 2 minutes .
  • Add soaked and washed rice ,salt and black pepper and microwave high for 2 minutes,mix it well.
  • Add 2 cups of water and cover the dish tightly with the cling wrap .
  • Make few slits with knife to the wrap as to pass the steam .
  • Set the microwave in medium heat and microwave it for another 15 minutes.
  • Serve hot with raita ,any curry or vegetable.
